Getting ready for Steam + Progress


We are happy to announce that our Steam page is up!

Is getting released on Early Access in 3 months aprox. We are in the process of getting the build approved, which is... difficult, as Valve expects a near-finished product, so we had to implement many features, which we will mention below.

A video is missing, but we are doing that near EA release.

As for the features, here's what to expect on itch current update:

  • Full controller support. So far only XINPUT (Xbox compatible joysticks) are supported. On Steam, PS4 and generic gamepads are supported.

  • Lighting system. We've been working hard on getting lighting right. This was difficult to do it, because had to run fast and pretty. I think we kinda worked it out!

  • New entities. We are working to add new experiences and to do some world building. In-game characters gives us an opportunity to do so. We have now some advanced corruption that turns your friends into a mix of flesh and machinery, which was our goal for quite some time. This is still WIP and voices are missing, but we will do that on our next step.


  • Extended hacking system. We also finally included our hacking system in-game. Now some specific doors can be hacked in order to continue, or to get some bonuses:



  • Locale support. We will be translating our game into multiple languages. We pulled off a system where the game now reads a file where the translation is supposed to be. This is not yet visible and there's no translations. But there will be. Fluent in some language? Help us translate SUPER Cute Alien!

Now, for Steam features, besides full controller support, we also did a few things:

  • Auto Pause if overlay is on. If you pop up the overlay, game will pause.
  • Rich presence. Gives your friends more information about what you are currently doing in-game.
  • Achievements. Nuff' said
  • Steam Remote Play. Works like magic! Use any controller and play any game mode together. Is that cool.

  • Steam Cloud saves. In case you wish to continue your progress on another PC, Steam will automatically download your saves.
  • Support for upcoming free DLC character packs.

Now, some FAQs:

  • I paid more than 2.99, where's my Steam key?

We will be sending keys manually, via e-mail as this process is not automated. This will be closer to Steam's release day (as soon as we get these keys for that version)

  • Is itch version getting slower updates or abandoned?

Build will be exactly the same for both versions and we will update both at the same time. Updating one or the other is a fairly trivial process. We let the game check if Steam is running, and if so, Steam features are enabled.

It was quite hard to reach this point because there was a lot back and forth, to get a build ready for Steam. But I think we kinda did it!
